Apocalypse Is Not "The End", It's The Unveiling

Everyone is hopping all over the word Apocalypse as if it were a nice, big, long, all-encompassing, super-powerful, end-of-the-world, super-word; well, it ain't so. We've been writing of, and thinking of, the Apocalypse for a long time, not in such terms as the catastrophic end of human existence but as the precursor of a great spiritual awakening. The Apocalypse comes from an old Greek word:

etymology apocalypse--c.1384, "revelation, disclosure," from Church L. apocalypsis "revelation," from Gk. apokalyptein "uncover," from apo- "from" (see apo-) + kalyptein "to cover, conceal" (see Calypso). The Christian end-of-the-world story is part of the revelation in John of Patmos' book "Apokalypsis" (a title rendered into Eng. as "Apocalypse" c.1230 and "Revelations" by Wyclif c.1380).

Apocalypse is the reverse of a cover-up, the anointing of every conspiracy theorist's dream; it is the Alpha and the Omega. The Apocalypse is a "good thing". The four horsemen have a hard job, after all, dragging that heavy veil off of our eyes. The Vatican sees the problem, recently unveiling a special Apocalypse exhibit to remind us that even their version of the "Truth" will be wiped away.

Have you heard this one: "my kingdom is not of this world"? (John 18:36)
So, what makes you think being a mogul in whatever dreamworld really matters? Are you some Caesar-unto-Caesar antidote that chases money, fame and fortune and then goes to heaven with a big stack of heavenly Greenstamps® under your arm reminding Jesus that you had to do what you had to do to get your kid into college? You can't see God through Armani® glasses.

The Apocalypse isn't about fear, it's about undoing, and unveiling reality. Reality is a dream decided upon, like history, majority rules...at least for now. All endings are beginnings, all births are painful. Be prepared for your virtual slap on the ass; you will cry, and later smile with a silver spoon in your mouth. The truth is being fed to you one, tiny spoonful at a time.

Fear and worry are pastimes, not lifestyles. Guilt and depression are habits, not birthrights. Give yourself a break and remember that you are free and love is limitless, you are limitless and, as God's creation, you are perfect. So breathe easy when you face The Apocalypse Times for these times aren't about endings, they are about beginnings.

Prayer Seen As Super-Weapon Against Evil

Not long after our explorations of hate and evil we see growing in the world, the Vatican revealed a new assault on Satan. It appears that we are not the only ones seeing evil growing in the world; and while it may seem ironic to many that an organization like the Catholic church, who has seen much evil arise from its own ranks in recent years, is spearheading an attack on evil from the outside, at least somebody is doing something! The rite of exorcism is as old as the church itself and was popularized by a movie made in the 1970's entitled simply "The Exorcist". The idea that an archduke of evil can inhabit the body of a man against his will is perhaps one of the most frightening ideas ever conceived and the Vatican's straightforward assault is a modern day eye brow raiser for sure.

According to a highly placed Vatican official, a chief in charge of fighting the devil, Father Gabriele Amorth: "Too many bishops are not taking this seriously and are not delegating their priests in the fight against the Devil. You have to hunt high and low for a properly trained exorcist." It looks like the Satan hunt is on for real and, to many who see this type of church activity as akin to voodoo, it may look like a giant step backward for the organization. According to Amorth, "People suffer and think that turning to the Devil can help solve their problems. We are being bombarded by requests for exorcisms." Sounds like the exorcist appeal is more a matter of supply and demand than an attempt to restore the church to earlier time or more traditional standards.

As a silver bullet in the fight against the Devil, the church recommends recitation of a specific prayer: The Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. The prayer was traditionally seen as protection against evil that was recited at the end of Catholic Masses. The prayer was dropped in the 1960s by Pope John XXIII. The text of the prayer follows.

• Saint Michael the Archangel,
  defend us in battle.
  Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
  May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
  and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
  by the Divine Power of God -
  cast into hell, Satan and all the evil spirits,
  who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
  Amen.

We don't want to be accused of doing commercials for the Catholic church. We are of the opinion that if Christ were walking the streets of Rome today he might well purge the church of all of its symbols and riches much as he did when he upset the tables of the money changers in Temple of His own time. The church does, however, do something few organizations do anymore and that is speak out on matters of spirit which we feel need to be placed higher in the public realm than they currently are. Matters of spirit need to be discussed, debated and dissected in this time of strife we are entering; they may be our only refuge during The Apocalypse Times....

Do You Feel The Hate?

As fear grows around the world, so does it's twin sister emotion: hate. According to Princeton University's WordNet, hate is defined as: S: (n) hate, hatred (the emotion of intense dislike; a feeling of dislike so strong that it demands action); and the action is growing as those who have gnawed their fingernails to the quick have little left to do but attack. A pervasive sense of fear is flooding the modern world as those who have everything ponder the possibility they might lose it all; they wonder if all the things they have represent priorities that might possibly be wrong, or that the inevitability of their own death is real and will wipe out all these things no matter what happens in this world. Their eyes pop open wide, they gasp. When backed into a corner, they attack; you may well have been the victim of such a person. How did you react? Did you flee or fight when confronted with the gnashing teeth of hate?

We recommend you flee! Run to a safe place you build for yourself that needs no fence or barricade to defend. Build a house inside your head that has a cozy fireplace, soft music and candlelight. No retribution you can mete out will bring you justice; your own fear factor will increase in magnitudes when revenge is taken. You will be looking over your shoulder forever.

As an example of the hate of action growing in this world, we suggest you read the story of the suicide of 13 year old Megan Meier. She was victimized by the parents of a scorned friend who emotionally abused her with the assistance of a Myspace website. They tricked her. Their words carried more weight than everyday name calling; after all, they appeared in print and on the Internet. The shame the girl felt as a result of the carefully engineered emotional attack, the hate of action created by adults, drove her to suicide.

The fear is quivering in the very brain stems of those most unable to cope. They are on the attack and looking for you. You run as fast as you can; hide inside your safe place with your head under the covers and shiver in fear. It is your only option. Such is the inevitable pain of The Apocalypse Times....

How Long Can California Avoid The Big Quake?

Those living in parts of Asia may well believe that the Apocalypse Times have begun. No less than three tropical storms have been swirling around the area creating death, misery and fear. At the same time a series of earthquakes have rattled the nerves of those in major cities including New Delhi and Manila, where a quake occurred during a cabinet meeting of President Gloria Arroyo. Journalists and politicians left the building together and it was stated the President remained calm and collected. Several were killed in Indonesia, including a 5 year old boy, in a series of quakes that struck on Monday and it was reported the much panic was being felt by those who felt the tremors. Also on Monday, moderate earthquakes shook nerves in western Mexico and Guatemala. In all cases above, it was reported (in so many words) that people ran into the streets in panic and fear.

These reports reaching us here in the United States might as well be coming from the moon. Life proceeds as "normal" here and things like "Dancing With The Stars", and our nearly pointless and far away Presidential elections predominate the media. Holiday conscious Americans are being mesmerized by a seasonal blitz of buy or die advertising though they may well be sitting on the verge of a burgeoning financial collapse. Much of the rest of the world is running into the streets in panic, huddled in fear of floods, typhoons, disease and volcanoes. Imagine waking up with volcanic ash landing in your front yard. As you slept during the night, you were awakened by earthquake tremors. You turned on the radio in an attempt to go back to sleep and hear reports that you were to take shelter from an impending typhoon.

There was a 4.0 quake not too far from Seattle on Monday; and, with quakes occurring in Western Mexico as well, we wonder how long can California dodge the big earthquake bullet? We ask, what is justice and what is it that we are supposed to see?

Comet Holmes Amazingly Brightens In A Matter of Hours

Comet Holmes mysteriously exploded in brightness in a matter of hours according to sky-watchers.

Can you see it from your back yard? Yes!

How do I find it? You ask...

It appears somewhat yellowish in color and is very bright. We are looking at it from a suburban setting and it is quite visible. Look straight down to the horizon from a big W of stars "Cassiopeia" and you will see something bright that looks somewhat off color for a star. That's comet Holmes!

As comets have throughout history been believed to portend major earthly events to come, we had to run out to the back yard to have a look ourselves. Keep in mind that the object was invisible to the naked eye a short time ago; it increased in brightness some half a million times in three hours! With a simple, everyday name like Holmes, the comet has to feel like something we already know...like the Holmes' down the street, right? It may well be a harbinger of great changes in human history. The full moon is near perigee and some earthquake predictors think that could mean big shaking ahead. California is burning down and some end-timers think that is well deserved. Keep your eye on the sky for the truth will come to you as a speck of dust on your bottom eyelid. You know what's happening and no one on the Internet can explain it to you. The Apocalypse Times are upon us, do not fear: it's just another day.

We have posted some of the photos we took below; click on the photo itself to have a closer look. Comet Holmes is the brightest dot in the center of the photos. Currently, comet Holmes does not have a tail it just looks like a bright star. According to a site called the Cosmic Mirror:

A most amazing eruption is occurring on comet Holmes which was at 17 mag. at best but on October 24 suddenly began to brighten like crazy: Now (afternoon UTC) it has already reached 3rd magnitude and is easily visible to the naked eye, as reports from Japan indicate: "Perseus does not look 'Perseus' familiar to us due to the bright stellar object now." The comet looks like a bright, yellow star, and only magnification reveals a fuzzy coma around the dusty core. Holmes was discovered in 1892 thanks to a similar outburst, and hope is that the further development will be similar now: the coma should expand over time but stay bright for a week or more. "Following the initial stages of the [1892] outburst, the comet's total magnitude faded only very slowly and it remained visible to the unaided eye for about 3 weeks," advises comet guru John Bortle: "During this interval the coma expanded dramatically (as might be expected), reaching 20'-30' in size before its outer regions began to drop below the sky background." Moreover, there was a second outburst "of almost equal amplitude to the first one, about 75 days following its 1892 November brightening. Thus, I would urge everyone to watch very carefully for a possible repeat of this secondary event about the turn of the year.

Is MRSA Really Your Worst Enemy?

It is impossible to run from bacteria, much less hide! For this reason, the human family hasn't had it good against bacteria for a very long time. If it hadn't been for providence, luck or the grace of God we'd still be dropping dead in droves from common infections.

Modern antibiotics have been around for a relatively short time in human history. The discovery of penicillin by Sir Alexander Fleming occurred in 1928; he observed a mold which had grown by chance on a staphylococcus culture. The mold had surprisingly constructed a bacteria free zone around itself. The Scottish born researcher had stumbled upon a substance which would lengthen countless lives, especially after mass-production was refined during World War II. By the time the human devastation of D-Day was happening, thousands were being saved from once deadly gangrene with penicillin. Deadly and frightening diseases like pneumonia, tuberculosis and syphilis became curable and surgery became a safe endeavor. To hear of someone today, dying of bacterial pneumonia would be shocking to us; but, it is happening. It is now widely known that once treatable diseases are becoming resistant to the miracle drugs of the past.

Antibiotic resistance first began to emerge not long after the drugs were put into wide use. It was in the 1950s that a form of staphylococcus know as S Aureus 80/81 was discovered in hospital maternity wards all over the world. Attempts were made to limit the use of antibiotics as researchers began to realize that bacteria had the ability to evolve immunity to antibiotics.

So what can we expect? Until a new silver bullet is discovered to fight the "superbugs", once thought of as eradicated afflictions will kill healthy people. Sadly, the recent death of a healthy 17 year old Virginia boy has slapped us in the face with that truth. We will see things like c. difficile, pneumonia and staph take people down in droves as they once did before the era of antibiotics was born.

A story ran recently on CNN that MRSA had been discovered in other Virginia schools. Well of course it had! No matter how many times schools are cleaned, hospitals are sanitized or hands are washed the bugs will survive. They will continue to fight for survival by acquiring resistance to any new drug that emerges and hide from our feeble attempts to flush them out with anti-bacterial soaps, bleach based cleaners or alcohol hand scrubs. Bacteria survive in the most hostile of earthly environments and they may well survive us.

In bygone days our leaders once comforted us with phrases like, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself"; yet today the newscasts we watch and the political pronouncements we hear are seething with hopelessness and chastising warnings that our imminent death is coming sooner than we think unless we take the recommended precautions. If you think that you can run from MRSA, forget it. So what must you do? Stand and fight! Fight bravely each and every day and never give up hope that peace is available to you. Fear really is your worst enemy and to spend your precious and limited time on this earth being frightened of bacteria is an insult to your soul, the ultimate in vanity, perhaps downright blasphemy.

Face your fear; distraction is no true escape. You won't stop panicking while watching a America's Funniest Home Videos, especially if you don't flip during the commercials. Look at your fear through a microscope and try to understand what your fear really represents. To know your enemy intimately is to know how to destroy him whether he is MRSA, a heart attack, or an earthquake.

The Apocalypse Times is not about running away...it is about running towards.

How do I survive the end times?

You can't. The whole point of "end times" is for you to understand that you can't survive it. The whole concept is for you to realize that you are more than just a body; you are spirit. End times is about confronting your fear, finding the warrior inside of you and fighting until the end. End times is about beginning, about discovery, about spirit and about conquest. The biggest war that you have to fight is the one against yourself, against your ego, the war about the fear of death. If you read the stories on this site and wonder how you can protect yourself against all of the threats, then you are a fool. You cannot hide from death, it will find you on the most sunny day in the happiest time of your life. Death is your birthright. Death is not something to fear, it is your new beginning. Be brave and face the Apocalypse Times as your friend. Don' t laugh at it, death is a monster that you must fight, only the most weak give in to it through suicide. The Apocalypse Times are a time of unveiling, not a time of fear and sadness. The Apocalypse Times are a time for you to find your true spiritual strength. Do not read our page in fear, read it in bravery. Those who have found this site are the warriors, the teachers, the intelligentsia of the times to come. The pain will be unbearable, that is where you discover the real strength that you have. The emptiness will be unfathomable, that is where you find the only thing you have left to fight with is love. Love isn't a sacrifice, it is a gift. Sacrifice isn't losing something, it's pure faith. Breathe one deep breath without care and you will know. Prayers are a fighting tool, keep them until the end. When everything you think you have is gone you will find the real source of strength...nothing.

Rain, The Meteors Are Coming Down

Over the last two weeks meteors, fireballs, bolide meteorites, and other things have been coming down through the atmosphere like raindrops on a spring day. Is this the deadly rainstorm of chunks from space that many have spoken of as heralding the end times? We may be just nuts here at The Apocalypse Times, but the repetitive stories of fireballs over the last several days have us thinking that maybe we need a tinfoil hat or a special meteor-deflection helmet to keep us safe!

• Peru: a meteor comes down, livestock die, humans get sick in a spate of mass hysteria that explains away the possibility that something might have really happened.
  "scientists seemed to unanimously agree that it was a meteorite that had struck their territory"
• Alaska: fringe journalists report a burning light in the sky that is reported all over the state we bought from Russia....it can't be true can it?
• Finland: Crazy weirdos from Finland report seeing the brightest object in 30 years.
  
• New Jersey: A mystery fireball blows up off the coast making all residents seem nuts.
• Minnesota: Now, way-out residents of Minnesota report a fireball that is accompanied with an imagined loud boom.

So what's going on? It must all be imagined. We're all just crazies worried that a big meteorite is coming to wipe us out. We don't think so... The rainstorm of objects from the sky has started and there is no place to hide. We are riding on planet Earth as it takes us through a part of the the galaxy that is crowded with road hazards that, despite efforts of NASA, we just can't see. Get ready, because a big boom is coming to an area near you.

Could MRSA Become the Black Death of the 21st Century?

An epidemic is quietly growing on the skin of otherwise healthy people and showing up daily in the back pages of local newspapers all over the Globe. The bug MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) was once confined to hospitals but has crept into the community and is striking frequently in settings like football locker rooms.

In a recent, frightening case in the from Virginia, a healthy 26 year old man became ill with what he thought was the flu. Within four days of showing symptoms the man was on the verge of death. Upon admission to the hospital he had eight heart attacks within four hours. The infection damaged a heart valve which led to a stroke leaving him partially paralyzed and both of his legs were later amputated .

On our front page we linked to a story of a high school football player from Grove City, OH who was hospitalized with a "mystery illness". He had originally been infected with MRSA on his foot. The mystery illness was a complication of the original infection and became so severe that doctors induced a coma in order to try to save the boy. As a precaution the school's locker room was disinfected.

MRSA is a bacteria that has gradually become more and more resistant to penicillin. It is often found in the nostrils but can colonize elsewhere both inside and outside the human body. Often boils or abscesses form which must be lanced or drained in order to be treated. MRSA is called a superbug and is becoming more and more prevalent in the community. We suggest you keep your eye on this quietly emerging pandemic of a bug that is becoming increasingly difficult to treat with antibiotics.
