STEPHENVILLE LIGHTS DEBUNKED!!!!

Someone has posted this re-creation of the famous Stephenville lights video on YouTube. Apparently, by using a digital video setting called "Night Alive", which slows the shutter speed, one can create the same phenomenon as what was "seen" in Stephenville by filming a stationary object, in this case the star Sirius. Sorry folks, contact is not the story here it seems; at least with this particular facet of the whole Stephenville UFO story.?????

In an interview with 19 year resident David Caron of Stephenville, who shot the video, he said: "I didn’t know what to think. You could see it much better through the camera than just with the naked eye. I’m 52 and I’ve been all over the place and I’ve never seen anything that comes even close to what this looked like." Source: StevenvilleLights.com It appears that one may have not been able to see the phenomenon with the naked eye at all!

David Caron may have fooled himself by pushing a button on his camera by mistake, then filming the entire event in amazement and excitement feeling he was a part of a story that was becoming global in scope. Perhaps this was a deliberate attempt to throw a wrench into the whole story, creating a sideshow in order to discredit everyone and everything involved.

There is much more to the Stephenville lights story than just these particular lights and this particular video. Much of the story, which includes daylight sightings, is fully detailed at EarthFiles.com and StephenvilleLights.com.

We suppose the biggest story here was the attempt to keep the video secret in the first place. After it was released, it was watched and scrutinized by the public. It took thousands, maybe millions, of people seeing the film in order for one person to discover that the Stephenville Lights phenomenon may simply be an effect particular to the camera itself and not an attempt to communicate with symbols. Releasing information to the public has often been a good way to get at the truth.

We hope you readers will remain skeptical about anything you see regarding the modern UFO phenomenon; unless, of course, you see it with your own eyes. Deception is inherent in The Apocalypse Times

We contacted the creator of the above video:

How did you get the idea to try to replicate this video in this manner?

"I have participated in an ongoing debate on Open Minds Forum, topic: Texas UFO Sightings 2008, subject: Deconstructing the Projected Symbols. "

"It had been suggested that the so-called 'symbols' in the Caron video might have been the result of misapplied camera low-light features rather than skyward projections or maneuvers of alien or covert military instruments or craft. The progression of experiments can be viewed at the web site. "

"Basically though, the symbol segments of the Caron video appeared to be light trails resulting from the relative motion of a single illuminated object (or the camera) during a long exposure or slow electronic "shutter" speed. The color banding appeared to be similar to the color shifts or atmospheric prism effect of a twinkling star such as is frequently seen when Canis Major (Sirius) is close to the horizon. "

"Clipping frames from the video and layering them atop one another as transparencies indicated that the luminous trails were contiguous (or connected) end-to-end, symbol to symbol, and also suggested a common point of origin. The real puzzle was trying to rationalize why the symbols in the video seemed to pulse or to have the pronounced stroboscopic, stop-motion effect as if they were being projected in different segments of the sky."

"So, using a similar camera as Caron's, a JVC with the Night-Alive feature activated, it was aimed at Sirius in evening hours. This produced the strikingly similar results which only seem to confirm that the symbols themselves, at least, might have a more prosaic explanation. "

"We still have great confidence in Mr. Caron's credibility and admit that what he recorded may not have been a twinkling star at all, and so the illuminated source remains unidentified. Supporting witness testimony is limited and inconclusive."

"It should be noted that there are many facets of the Stephenville Lights phenomena apart from this that haven't been as closely examined, and remain unexplained. In fact there are reports that sightings of UFO's are continuing in the area. We remain frustrated that much evidence exists which has not been made public."

"Thank you for your interest in our efforts in seeking the truth."

To add even more credence to the above video re-creation we have discovered that indeed Sirius was in the SE sky on the night of Jan. 19th over Stephenville, TX. Note that Caron was looking in the SE that night:

"It wasn’t until the next night, Saturday, Jan. 19 that Caron realized exactly why his grandson made the comment and what he meant when he said, 'Papa come look. There’s funny lightening in the sky.'"

"Shortly before 9 p.m., Caron said he saw something that caught his eye when looking in the direction of Selden or towards the southeast horizon."

That object may well have been the very bright, twinkling and color-changing light of the Dog Star Sirius which was smack dab in the middle of the southeastern sky, about nine pm on January 19th.

Re Stephenville: The Stephenville Lights was not the original UFO sighting in Stephenville.

Consequently, your "Sorry folks, contact is not the story here it seems?????" makes no sense.

Unfortunately, others out there won't know better either and now think that the Stephenville sighting has been debunked in it's entirety.

Sorry if it makes no sense. We realize that there is more to the entire sighting including daylight reports. We were just shocked at the the similarities in the videos, especially after reading that David Caron had been paid for rights to the video.
